Terms of Service
Agreement to these terms
Last updated: July 30, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of autoevidence.com and the AutoEvidence platform, provided by AutoEvidence ("we"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, and our use of cookies in our Cookie Policy.
The service
AutoEvidence is an AI-accelerated platform for systematic reviews and meta-analyses. It helps you search the literature, screen studies, extract data, and synthesise findings, using AI models to handle volume and consistency while you provide the scientific judgment.
AutoEvidence is a research-support tool. It is not a substitute for expert review, methodological standards, or clinical judgment — see the research disclaimer below.
Accounts and acceptable use
You need an account (email and password) to use the platform. Provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity under your account.
When using AutoEvidence, you must not:
- ·Use the service for anything unlawful, or upload content you do not have the right to use.
- ·Upload directly identifiable personal data about study participants — the platform is designed for published literature, not identifiable patient-level data.
- ·Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, other users' data, or our infrastructure, or probe or test its security without permission.
- ·Interfere with the operation of the service, including through excessive automated requests or scraping.
- ·Circumvent billing, usage limits, or access controls, or resell access to the service without our agreement.
We may suspend or restrict accounts that violate these rules.
Research disclaimer
The platform is built for human-in-the-loop workflows: AI results are proposals for your review, not conclusions. You remain responsible for the methodological quality of your work and for following the reporting and review standards applicable in your field.
Your content and ownership
You own your review data — your protocols, screening decisions, extracted data, analyses, and reports. We claim no ownership of any of it.
So that we can run the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and transmit your content solely to provide the service to you — including sending your review content — study titles, abstracts, bibliographic metadata, your protocol text, and data extracted during your review — to the AI providers named in our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when the content is deleted from the platform.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to any content you upload.
Payments and billing
Paid features are offered as pay-per-review purchases or subscriptions, as presented at the time of purchase. All payments are processed by Stripe — we never receive or store your card details.
- ·The price, billing period, and renewal terms are those shown at checkout.
- ·Subscriptions renew automatically according to the terms shown at purchase and can be cancelled with effect from the end of the current billing period.
- ·Applicable taxes (such as VAT) may be added as shown at checkout.
- ·If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid features until it is resolved.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection law.
Availability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep AutoEvidence reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we make no uptime commitment. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of material changes where practicable. Back up any results you depend on.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AutoEvidence is not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including lost profits, lost data, or the consequences of research, publication, or clinical decisions based on platform outputs. Our total liability for all claims connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
Termination
You can stop using AutoEvidence and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, and will give you notice where practicable.
On termination, your content is deleted in line with the retention terms in our Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive — such as ownership, limitation of liability, and governing law — survive termination.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The date at the top always shows the current version. For material changes we will notify you on the site or by email before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, and any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably is subject to the jurisdiction of the Danish courts. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections granted by the mandatory law of your country of residence.
